| Daily Wisdom by Raventalker 11/01/2007 What I saw on Halloween…. Ghosts, Goblins, Witches and the whole lot … I also saw cheerleaders and football players.. I saw cowboys and indians.. I saw a princess or maybe 2.. I saw fairies and angels and firefighters and doctors .. I saw monsters and goblins and vampires too… and then I looked past the costumes and wow did I see some really cool things.. I saw families together having fun, laughing and playing as the night grew dark…. I saw the love between mother/father and child… parents that made the night be about having fun and being a child… I saw costumes lovingly made .. I saw the patience and time it took for those costumes .. made or store bought … there were parents who made sure their child got to be who they wanted on this one day of the year … Does it really matter in this day and time how this night originated and from which group of people or religion may have started any of it .. as it is .. it’s a collection … an infusion of many backgrounds, many religious beliefs as well as family traditions and lets not forget the media.. all these things have made it what it is today .. and now it is up to you .. each individual to make it what YOU want it to be.. For the most part I saw Halloween night being one of family love and harmony .. there was no fussing about what gifts to give or buy .. there was no bickering about whose house to go to for you go to them all.. there was no dollar amounts being brought up and it wasn’t even about who had the most expensive costume.. because at this time of year .. better doesn’t always mean more expensive! To me as a child Halloween was far better than Christmas… there was nothing I had to worry about except how I dressed.. and I could be anything in the world I wanted to be this night and no one would say how ridiculous … because the more ridiculous the better it seemed to be ? Halloween to me is the true meaning of being a kid.. allowing your imagination take over and then there’s the CANDY!!!! It can’t get any better than that! Anyway… that’s just a bit about what I saw Halloween night! Until next year … Many Blessings, Raventalker Daily Wisdom by Raventalker 11/2/2007 When the skies are clear .. spread your wings and fly .. enjoy the sunshine.. the scenery.. take in all the joys and wonders of life… be free When the rain begins to fall… run out and get your feet wet … allow the rain to soak you through and through and enjoy the refreshing feeling it brings …. Don’t be afraid to tread the waters of life When the wind blows wildly … rush out into the winds and let them take you on a journey … glide upon the winds of change and fear not the unknown When bad weather comes your way …. See it not as devastation and destruction .. but just as another kind of weather …. Hold fast … steady your feet … stand firm .. and the storm as always will pass.. Let go your fears.. let go your pride and follow what’s deep inside. That’s all I’m told today … not sure who this is for or why.. I’m just the messenger Many Blessings, Raventalker Go-la-nv Ga-wo-ni-ha Don’t make me call on the rain to hide my tears Don’t make me call on the wind to carry away all my fears Don’t make me I tell you I have been there … so many times.. I have visited this place … you know.. that sad place deep inside you where you go when you’ve been hurt.. when you’re sad and lonely .. when you feel like no one else in the world feels the way you do. That place you go and hide … that place where you think no one will notice how sad and lonely you are… how deeply hurt you may be.. I just wanted to send out a great big {{{hug}}} to all those finding themselves in that place… the holidays are getting close and this is the worst time of year to be feeling like no one cares … So I’m posting this little message to let you know you’re not alone.. there are people who care.. you just have to let them help you .. let them love and care for you .. Pull yourself out of that lonely place and try to have a bit of fun.. laugh … and live .. don’t let anyone make you feel like you don’t deserve to be loved .. Here’s a bit of magic coming your way .. hoping you’ll be able to laugh and have some fun … and most importantly feel the love this magic wish brings ? Now close your eyes and count to three… nod your head and accept this magic wish I send to thee….. Jump up and stomp the ground .. bang on the floor and make a lot of sound! Turn on some musical tunes … now scream and shout at the moon Spin and turn around really really fast … keep on going as I finish out this spell I cast Now stop and throw your arms into the air …. cast away all your worries and all your cares Pull your arms in really close and give yourself a great big hug … hold on tight…. Many Blessings, Raventalker Daily Wisdom by Raventalker 11-14-2007 When life comes at you .. stop.. calm yourself... get grounded and steady your stance. Don't let your ego and your emotions take control... Empty yourself with all hatred, jealousy and negative emotions... Act and react with love and all will fall into place When one reacts to situations with their emotions in a negative manner .. I'm sure you've seen it before.. nothing seems to go your way .. and to top it all off.. your hurt, upset and most likely angry... and no one likes those sort of feelings stirring around inside So work on releasing all that negative emotion and allow love to take it's place.. not only will you feel better .. things will work out more to your benefit and you'll be able to walk away knowing you have not acted in anger and hate ... but in a loving way .. Don’t let the attitude or the negative energies of others get you down… Take some time for yourself to get away from the crowds….. Simplify…. Breathe…. Many Blessings, Raventalker Daily Wisdom by Raventalker 11-19-2007 Well I’ve accrued another years worth of wisdom as of today and I tell ya it’s been one crazy year! Through all the bumps and bruises - I have survived.. I’ve come out of this year a bit wiser and loads happier than last ? What I’ve learned this year …. It’s never too late for your dreams to come true…. So always believe Never say never Happiness can be found just where you are .. it’s within you always .. Cherish the moments you have with your children.. the good and the bad When doing something .. do it with your whole heart and do it well Know when to hold on ? Know when to let go Believe in yourself Take everyday as it comes… Listen I thank the Creator for blessing me this year … I’m blessed with the best husband ever ? Makayla is doing so well in school.. made the honor roll this past semester!!! I’ve got a job I like and work with great people.. My art continues to grow and change I was finally able to put that crap of car of mine to rest and get something more dependable… (BIG RELIEF!) I got my art into a gallery this year? So much to be thankful for .. I am blessed with love and happiness… Thank you Creator! Daily Wisdom by Raventalker 11-20-2007 Today’s wisdom comes from a birthday gift from Lindsey … LOL… good stuff here .. Deep Thoughts… from a book by Jack Handey Sometimes I think the world has gone mad. And then I think, “Aw, who cares?” And then I think, “Hey, what’s for supper?” I think in one of my previous lives I was a mighty king, because I like people to do what I say. Whenever I see an old lady slip and fall on a wet sidewalk, my first instinct is to laugh. But then I think, what if I was an any, and she fell on me. Then it wouldn’t seem quite so funny. If you’re a young mafia gangster out on your first date, I bet it’s really embarrassing if someone tries to kill you. The face of a child can say it all, especially the mouth part of the face. Blow ye winds, like the trumpet blows; But without that noise. If you ever fall off the Sears Tower, just go limp, because maybe you’ll look like a dummy and people will try to catch you because, hey, free dummy! LOL.. many blessings… and may laughter fill your days, Raventalker Daily Wisdom by Raventalker 11-27-2007 Why oh why does my bed have to be so warm and cozy …. I tell ya I did not want to get up this morning …. Most mornings in fact…lol! How awesome would it be to just get up when ya feel like it and go to work!!! I’m afraid I probably wouldn’t ever get to work though.. I can say it’s all my husbands fault .. it feels soooooooooooooooooo good laying there next to him snuggled up under those cozy blankets!!! Last night as I lay in my bed about to drift off to dream land I was greeted by a deer off in a meadow peeking over the talk grasses at me.. and so I give to you today’s wisdom…. Woodland dreams of intuition come with the graceful deer. I greet you, brothers of the forest. Your gift of magic will brighten my life. Transformation will come to me. Like you, I stand listening to the drum beat of life, Poised to follow my guiding spirits. Deer Totem Gentleness and Innocence Deer teaches us to use the power of gentleness to touch the hearts and minds of wounded beings who are in our lives. Don't push towards change in others, rather gently nudge them in right direction with the love that comes from a Deer totem. When a Deer totem shows up in your life, a new innocence and freshness is about to be awakened. There is going to be a gentle lure of new adventures. There will be an opportunity to express the gentle love that will open new doors for you. Daily Wisdom by Raventalker 11-29-2007 To some the call is loud and clear and to some not so loud and not so clear ... There are those of you who know who you are and what guides you ... and then there are those unsure.. To find your helpers, your guides.. sit quietly and begin to listen .. step away from yourself and look at the world around you. Look behind you at the foot prints you have left in the dirt .. what other foot prints or tracks do you see? And don't worry if you see more than 1 or 2 other sets ... for we are all ever changing .. often we have more than just one totem guide or helper.. sometimes you may have a mix of guides and helpers and sometimes only 1 or 2 Here is something I found on the Raven .. my own personal guide at the moment Raven is a very special totem. They're all special, of course, but Raven holds a unique place in many native myths. Raven is a creator - he is mankind's protector and sometimes savior. He brought light and fire to the early people so they would not die. He gave them salmon so they wouldn't starve. In some stories, he even brought water to break a terrible drought. He is a cultural hero. He is also a Trickster. Raven steals from man, and from other spirits. He plays jokes on us, and he laughs at mankind's expense. Sometimes his tricks go awry and he ends up the butt of his own joke, but even then, there is humor. Raven is a juxtaposition of opposites: A provider and a thief. A hero and a fool. He brought light out of darkness, but he is himself cloaked in midnight black. He is a symbol of dark brooding sadness, and of death, yet he brings life, and unrivalled joy. He is credited with creating the earth and all its mysteries, but even the smallest secret attracts his attention. He is a silent spy, and an unstoppable chatterbox. He is many things.... And sometimes he is nothing. That is Raven. Raven's children must understand the value of humor. They need to see the joy which pervades all living things, and bring that joy to others. They also need to develop their sense of curiosity. So many fascinating things happen around us all the time - and raven's children want to know about all of them. They also want to bring things into the light. Some people might not want to see what Raven's brood expose to the bright light of day, though... since many people have secrets which they'd prefer to keep hidden. Those who follow Raven aren't always appreciated for what they do, but they still share a certain satisfaction at a job well done when they make someone stop and reevaluate themselves or the world around them.
